Hi Friends! If you’re planning a dinosaur birthday party for a dino-loving little one in your life I’ve got you covered! I have so many fun ideas, products and graphic designed free printables to share with you all today! This dinosaur birthday party project is a recent collaboration that I did with KikiBoxes. TheDinosaur themed KikiBox is packed with so many dino-mite items to take the stress out of planning a fantastic dinosaur birthday party that will be a roaring good time for all. If your birthday boy or girl is dino-obsessed I’m sure you already have toy dinosaurs and other items that can work so well as party decor for this theme. Also, I designed a bunch of custom graphic printable elements to coordinate with this amazing KikiBox and the dinosaur theme. You can grab all of these free printables by entering your name and email address in the form at the bottom of this post.

There are so many fun, high-quality, and well-coordianted items in the Dinosaur KikiBox. Inside the box you will find plates, napkins, dinosaur party hats, a tablecloth, a table runner, favor bags, goodies for favors, cups, cutlery, confetti, balloons, candles, a tassel garland, cupcake toppers, and the list goes on. This box will make setting up your dinosaur birthday party a breeze.

So now, without further ado…STOMP THIS WAY to the party!

All of the colors in the Dinosaur KikiBox are just so fun! I love the earthy shades of green paired with the blue and pops of orange and yellow. After reviewing all of the items in the box I was so inspired to create a bold, graphic backdrop sign that incorporated the same colors, as well as, of course the stars of the show…a roaring T-Rex and a Triceratops (two absolute favorites in our house)! I really love that these graphics can work for any age child. I feel that they are whimsical and fun enough to appeal to younger children while also being graphic and bold for kids that are a bit older. Also, I wanted this sign to be large to really have a presence at the table, so it is36 inches X 48 inches. A tip for printing: I recommend printing large signs as color engineering prints at Staples. Engineering prints are very inexpensive but the paper is very thin. You will need to be able to tape the sign to the wall or mount on foam board, etc. You can download my “Roarrr means Happy Birthday in Dinosaur!” backdrop sign printable (as well as all of the other printables that I created for this party) by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

How fun are these little “dig in” tags!?! Sometimes it’s the simplest little details that can really make your celebration original and stand out. You can put these little tags anywhere on the kids table where all the little party goers will be eating. But, I really love the way they look stuck within the prongs of the wooden forks.

DINO-MITE DINOSAUR BIRTHDAY PARTY: THE FOOD

I chose a naked cake for the birthday cake at our little celebration. I love the earthy, natural look of naked cakes and I think it worked so well with this theme. Our amazing and talented friends at Bella Christie and Lil’ Z’s Sweet Boutique made the cake. They have made so many beautiful cakes for our past celebrations, like our recent RetroDrive-In Movie Party, ourParty Animal Zoo Party, ourSummer Camp Partyand the gorgeous book cake from our Vintage Book Retirement Party. This cake was so pretty, clean and simple (and absolutely delicious!). The two smaller succulents are made of fondant and the larger succulent in the back is real. To fit with our dinosaur birthday party theme even more, I added crushed Oreos to the base of the cake as well as sprinkled finely crushed cookie crumbs on the top of the cake. Then, I added three small dinosaur fossils (that come in the KikiBox!) to finish the look.

The custom designed cookies at the party could not have been a more exact match to the design on the plates! They were also made byBella Christie and Lil’ Z’s Sweet Boutique and were absolutely incredible! Tip for displaying cookies: For a pretty presentation, display cookies on top of edible grass candy. Also, small candies work really well too for cookie presentation…as seen in ourRetroDrive-In Movie Partyand Back-to-School Party.

Another fun element that I like to add to any party table is including simple foods and giving them creative names that match the theme. For example, these white chocolate covered pretzel “dinosaur bones” were a huge hit as well! I really do believe that you don’t always have to go crazy with elaborate foods…sometimes simple, straight-off-the-shelf, store bought foods can be just as fun!

These dinosaur cupcake toppers are seriously the cutest! They dressed up the cupcakes in such a fun, festive way. Also, they matched the dinosaur party hats perfectly.

DINO-MITE DINOSAUR BIRTHDAY PARTY: A DINO DIG

The small dinosaur fossil figurines that I didn’t use on the cake worked so well as a part of our Dino Dig! Also, in the KikiBox there are adorable dinosaur puzzle favors. I included those (one at a time) in our Dino Dig as well. My boys had a blast pretending to be paleontologists and digging for fossils!
